Petrolifera to Start Block 107 Surveys on February 11
Canadian oil and gas company Petrolifera Petroleum (TSX: PDP) plans to begin aeromagnetic-gravity surveys of block 107 in Peru's Ucayali basin on February 11.
Petrolifera had planned to begin the studies in January but they were delayed due to global positioning survey corrections, the company said in a statement.
The company plans to begin final informative workshops and public consultation with local communities this week with plans to wrap up the process by end-March.
Petrolifera also has received five bids from contractors for the block's proposed seismic program. Seismic acquisition is expected to begin in April following government approval of the block's environmental impact assessment.
The seismic program includes the acquisition of some 1,480km of 2D seismic data, BNamericas reported previously.
The company expects to award the seismic contract this month, Petrolifera president Gary Wine told BNamericas, adding the contract is worth at least US$12mn.
