Unifin Acquires GE Heat Transfer, GE Harley

Unifin, a supplier of cooling equipment and transformer oil pumps and valves to the Power Generation and Power Transformer industries, announced the completion of its GE Heat Transfer and GE Harley acquisitions.

"These are exciting acquisitions that allow Unifin to continue its strategy as a world leader in providing generator and transformer cooling products to both OEMs and end users," said Manny Agostinho, president of Unifin International. "With these purchases comes a broader industry reach for Unifin, and we expect even more opportunity and success to follow."

Both companies will now be part of Unifin's Cardinal Pumps & Exchangers division. Cardinal Pumps is a division of Unifin, manufacturing hundreds of pump configurations used in all of the company's wide range of transformer oil coolers. Unifin's Cardinal Pumps & Exchangers also manufactures a line of heavy-duty transformer oil valves ranging from 2" to 8", including ANSI standard and OEM-specific flange configuration bolt hole patterns.

GE Heat Transfer, located in Chesapeake, VA, is a leading supplier of generator cooler products to General Electric and end user utilities in North America. Production of its generator hydrogen coolers, air coolers and lube oil coolers will continue in the Virginia facility along with its repair operations. Ed Sapiro has been named as site leader.

Tab Shaffer will head up pump operations in Salem and Twinsburg, OH, where Harley and Cardinal are located. "The Harley and TecSonic brands, along with the existing Cardinal brand, will be included in Unifin's portfolio, thus allowing Unifin to offer its customers single-stop shopping for all their Transformer Cooling and Oil Pump needs," said Shaffer.

The compressor and breaker products for the electric utility industry will allow Unifin to broaden its product range to its existing customers.

Unifin International has been an innovative designer and manufacturer of heat transfer products for many years. Now a world-leading supplier of Transformer Oil Coolers and Pumps to the Power Transformer industries, the company has also emerged as a premier supplier of Large Power Generator and TEWAC Motor cooling equipment. Headquartered in London, Ontario, Unifin is a part of Koch Industries Group, one of the largest privately held companies in the world.
