Wireline operations were recently completed on the South Plato-1 well located in TL/6 south of Varanus Island. A cement plug was set towards the base of the oil reservoir to rectify excess water influx from a fractured cement bond in the original well completion. Wireline operations were successful and production from the well has been re-established at the anticipated higher flow rates, being around 10,000 bopd at present. Initial indications are that the excess water influx has been rectified however, the well will be monitored over the next week to confirm that the plug does not leak.
