Canadian Superior Seeks Biostratigraphic Analysis for Caribbean Ops

Calgary-based oil and gas company Canadian Superior Energy will accept expressions of interest through January 17 to provide biostratigraphic analysis services for its Trinidad & Tobago operations, the Caribbean country's energy ministry reported.

Canadian Superior (Amex, TSX: SNG) has various offshore holdings in the Columbus Basin off the east coast of Trinidad.

The company is preparing three back-to-back wells dubbed Intrepid, Bounty and Victory in block 5(c), which will be drilled from a semi-submersible drill rig in water depths of 150-450 m.

The first of the three wells to be drilled will be to a projected depth of 16,000ft (4,877m) and spudded this quarter subject to regulatory, internal approvals and rig readiness.

Canadian Superior will request formal proposals at a later date.
