The firm has mobilized a 16' x 8' module for use as a technician's cabin during offshore testing on the SDC Istiglal semi-submersible in the Shah Deniz field, Baku.
The Zone 1, A60 fire-rated pressurized cabin, fitted with air conditioning, was transported to Azerbaijan after returning from a long-term contract in Brazil, demonstrating DMAS' flexibility in providing high-specification cabins to any geographical area.
The deal, which is worth some £20,000, builds on Duffy & McGovern's position in Baku, adding to its ongoing relationship with Nord Deutsche Seekabelwerke (NSW) in the region.
In the North Sea, a pressurized 20' x 8' Zone 2 and A60 fire-rated cabin, fitted as a technician's office, has been taken to the Claire Platform for work being carried out by Metrol for BP in the UKCS.
Metrol's offshore technicians have also been using a 16' x 10' Zone 1 A60 unit while working for Tullow Energy on the Borgsten Dolphin in the Schooner field.
Duffy and McGovern commercial director Craig Russell said: "Our business at home and abroad continues to grow and our capability to respond to clients' needs through our global fleet is a major factor in that.
"I'm very happy to see increasing business in the Caspian region, which gives us the chance to show how quickly we can mobilize units through our hubs in Aberdeen, New Orleans and Singapore. At the same time contracts on our North Sea order book just keep on growing."
