Pemex Seeks Companies to Interpret Marine Well Data

Mexican state oil company Pemex's E&P unit Pemex Exploracion y Produccion (PEP) has launched an international tender to collect, process and interpret the geological and geophysical characteristics of oil wells in the marine division.

The winner of the contract will have to set up an operations base in or near the city of Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche state.

PEP will use the information to determine well formation porosity, density, temperature and water saturation, among other parameters, according to bidding rules.

The data will allow PEP to evaluate production potential and optimize exploration.

Offers are due January 10.

Work is slated to begin in March and will take a year to complete. Pemex has budgeted 5.17mn pesos (US$470,000) plus US$11.7mn for works.
