San Luis Province Working on Hydrocarbons Bill

The government of Argentina's San Luis province is working to draw up a hydrocarbons bill for future exploration of potential hydrocarbons-bearing basins, the provincial government said in a statement.

Technicians from Universidad de La Punta (UDLP) are drafting the bill.

The technicians also are using modern software to study past analyses of the province that were carried out by then state-owned oil company YPF and Argentina's energy department.

The study will be concluded in some 30 days, the statement quoted UDLP president Alicia Banuelos as saying.

Banuelos and government officials from the province also discussed the conditions for creating a provincial energy company, the statement said.
