CapRock Taps Bryan Olivier as COO

CapRock Communications

CapRock Communications, a global satellite communications provider to remote locations, has appointed Bryan Olivier as the company's chief operating officer.

Olivier, a telecommunications industry veteran, moves into this role from his former position as the company's chief technology officer. In the COO role, Olivier's responsibilities will include consolidating operations, information technology, project management, engineering and supply chain management into a single global platform. Responsibilities of the chief operating officer were previously held by Errol Olivier, who is retiring after nearly seventeen years of service with the company.

"Bryan is a highly respected and experienced leader. His understanding of our business and our customers' needs around the world, along with a proven track record of success, make him the ideal choice for this role," said retiring CapRock President and Chief Operating Officer Errol Olivier. "I am confident that consolidating CapRock's global technology and operations under Bryan will bring significant value to our clients."

Bryan Olivier's appointment to COO, following Errol Olivier's retirement, is a part of the company's new organizational alignment around strategic markets. With this new structure, each key vertical will be managed by a market-specific executive for the energy, maritime and engineering and construction global businesses. Although all of these markets share the common requirement of reliable communications and world-class service in harsh and isolated locations, they each face challenges specific to their industry. CapRock's organizational alignment will allow the company to become even closer to its customers in each of these vertical markets.

Previously, over an eight-year period in his career, Bryan Olivier held a number of positions of increasing responsibility at CapRock, including vice president of engineering and network construction, where he was responsible for the technology development and expansion of the company's network infrastructure. Bryan Olivier then went on to become CTO of Clearwire Technologies, a wireless broadband service provider, and later became COO of NovoLink Communications, a global VoIP telecommunications service provider, before returning to CapRock earlier this year as CTO.

"Having global engineering, technology and operations merged under Bryan's leadership will further improve CapRock's efficiency and position the company to continuously improve its service around the world," Errol Olivier said. "I have absolutely no doubt about the continued success that Bryan will bring to CapRock and I am confident that his initiatives will further position the company as the trusted leader in satellite communications."

Celebrating 25 years in business, CapRock Communications is a global satellite communications provider for the offshore energy, maritime, construction and mining industries, as well as for disaster relief and government applications.
