The increase was due to three new production wells that began operations in the Albacora, Albacora Leste, and Caratinga fields in the Campos basin, the company said in a statement.
Petrobras also attributed the increase to higher output at the Golfinho field well.
In September, domestic oil and gas production was 2.06Mboe/d, up 0.8% from the previous month and 3% higher than September 2005.
Last month's domestic oil output rose 1.4% to 1.79Mb/d compared to August, while natural gas production fell 3% to 42,945m3/d. The production figures were up 3.2% and 2.1% respectively compared to the year-ago period.
