Occidental Makes Changes in Investor Relations Department
Kenneth J. Huffman, Vice President, Investor Relations for Occidental will retire December 31, 2006 upon completion of 15 years of service. Commenting on Mr. Huffman's planned retirement following a career spanning 40 years in the oil and gas industry, Occidental Petroleum's Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ray R. Irani, said, "Occidental has been fortunate to have an executive on our management team with Ken's broad industry knowledge and experience to represent the company with the financial community. His contributions to our success over the years are greatly appreciated."
Christopher G. Stavros has been promoted to Vice President Investor Relations. Prior to joining Occidental in February 2005 as Director of Investor Relations, Mr. Stavros was with UBS Investment Bank where he was responsible for institutional sales focusing on the energy sector. Prior to that, he was an oil and gas sell-side analyst with UBS, PaineWebber and Prudential Securities. Mr. Stavros, who holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Boston University and a master's degree in business administration from the William E. Simon School at the University of Rochester, began his career as an accountant with Ernst & Young.
