Carson Energy says that logging of the third intermediate section of the S.W. Redfish Reef Prospect located in the State Waters of Texas in Trinity Bay, indicates that the well is productive in the Anomalina #2 and Upper Vicksburg Cib. Miss. Sand intervals. These zones are in addition to the logged productive Frio 15 and Frio 19 sand sections located in the second intermediate section as announced September 25, 2006. Carson Energy, Inc. owns a minority working interest in the prospect and well.
Neither of these productive intervals are the main target intervals for the well. After setting intermediate casing, drilling operations will resume to test the deeper Porter and Anomalina #3 Sand intervals. The well is anticipated to reach total depth within the next two weeks.
The apparent success of the S.W. Redfish Reef #1 well will add to Carson's growing portfolio of 3D wells and prospects in the Trinity and Galveston Bay area with a primary focus on deeper Frio and Vicksburg Sand intervals.
