Rocksource Expands Focus to Include Shallow Water Settings

Rocksource

Rocksource has developed and tested new proprietary algorithms to deal with the shallow water challenges for the electromagnetic technology. Until recently, the technology has been considered unsuitable for waters shallower than 200 meter due to added noise. The tests carried out have been successful and the company is able to define the critical issues that must be addressed when collecting EM data in shallow water. This will enable screening of areas previously considered unsuitable for the EM technology and will affect the strategy for the company's portfolio development.

The current results will have strategic implications for Rocksource's approach in building a portfolio of exploration licenses as it expands the application of EM technology into larger parts of both the Norwegian and the UK Continental Shelf where the water depth is shallower than 200 meter.
