Block 88, operated by Argentina's Pluspetrol, produced the largest amount of natural gas in August with an average of 144 million cubic feet a day (Mf3/d). Local firm Aguaytía Energy was next with average production of 45.4 Mf3/d followed by local company Petrotech Peruana with an average 18.6Mf3/d.
Total natural gas production in the first eight months of the year was 156Mf3/d, up 15.8% from the same period in 2005.
Total gas production in the eight-month period was 37.9Bf3, a 4.1% increase year-on-year.
LIQUID HYDROCARBONS PRODUCTION
Production of liquid hydrocarbons in August reached 122,200 barrels a day (b/d) for a total of 3.79 million barrels (Mb), up 6.5% year-on-year.
Pluspetrol produced a combined 84,000b/d from its blocks 88, 1-AB and 8, while Petrotech produced 14,700b/d from block Z-2B. The local subsidiary of Argentine firm Petrobras Energía produced 13,000b/d.
Total production of liquid hydrocarbon in the eight-month period averaged 115,400b/d, up 1.7% from the same period in 2005.
Total production for the period reached 28Mb.
