IPR Drilling Campaign Nets Results in Egypt's Western Desert

IPR, a Texas Independent, has continued to make significant strides in the North Bahariya Concession in the Western Desert of Egypt. Norpetco, the operating Company for IPR and its two partners Sipetrol International S.A. Chile, and Industrija Nafte Zagreb (INA), Croatia, has successfully completed the third of three wells in the Ferdaus field, Ferdaus-5, and has made a significant new discovery at the wildcat Rayan-1X.

Ferdaus-5 was drilled to a depth of 9,367 ft and tested oil in two of the three identified pay zones in the Abu Roash "G" and Bahariya, both Cretaceous age. The third zone will be tested at a later date. The well was put on production commingling the two zones and built up to a stable flow rate of 893 BOPD.

The Rayan-1X well is a new pool discovery drilled to a total depth of 8,381 ft in the Bahariya formation. Rayan-1X was plugged back to test a zone in the Abu Roash "G". After fracing and testing the zone, the well was placed on production averaging 540 BOPD from 20 ft of perforations.

IPR, in partnership with Apache and Sipetrol, have added another producing well to the El Diyur-2X field in the Western Desert, Egypt. El Diyur-12 was drilled to 8,850 ft TD and successfully completed in the Abu Roash "G". The well was put on production at the end of July 2006 producing 320 BOPD. The El Diyur partnership is aggressively recording a multi-program seismic campaign to prepare for the next phase of exploration drilling, in parallel to the drilling of El-Diyur Wells 13 and 18.
