Oilex NL said that it has accepted the offer made by the
Commonwealth-Western Australia Offshore Petroleum Joint Authority for the award
of permit W05-11 located in the offshore Carnarvon Basin on behalf of a
consortium of 5 companies led by Oilex.
W05-11 was offered in the bid round that closed on 26 April 2006. It is located
to the north of the Goodwyn / North Rankin gas fields trend and to the
northeast of the Jansz-Io gas discoveries in the Exmouth Sub-basin.
The successful bidding group comprises Oilex (Operator, 20%) and major Indian
companies Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Ltd (20%), Videocon Industries
Ltd (20%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (20%) and Bharat Petroleum
Corporation Ltd (20%).
