State-owned Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited has received orders worth US $46.7 million from ONGC for refurbishment of its land rig fleet. The order includes the refurbishment and upgrade of 12 land rigs to enhance their efficiency and capability, according to a statement from BHEL. BHEL and ONGC recently signed a memorandum for supply, upgrade and refurbishment of oil field equipment, used by ONGC for both onshore and offshore applications. The agreement covers a wide range of equipment for oil and gas exploration, production and related activities. BHEL is the leading manufacturer of land drilling rigs, mobile and workover rigs in the country, having supplied 84 rigs so far, including 70 rigs to ONGC and the balance to Oil India Limited.
