Gas Prices Up
|Thursday, April 08, 1999
According to Tony Say, President of Chesapeake Marketing Energy, this years average price for Oklahoma natural gas is $1.75 per thousand cubic feet. In 1997 and 1998 the average price exceeded $2. At the end of March, storage facilities in Oklahoma were still forty percent full, but drilling has declined and Mr. Say said the “supplies already are shrinking.” Gas suppliers are hoping for a long hot summer to recoup losses incurred during last years mild summer.
