PTT and Iran Agree on an Initial LNG Provision
Prasert Bunsumpun, president of Bangkok-based PTT Public Co. Limited, recently signed a contract on an initial agreement to have Iranian Pars LNG provide 3 million TPY (400 Mcfd) of liquefied natural gas (LNG) for 20 years starting from 2011.
The agreement will promote Thailand’s long-term procurement stability in responding to the growing domestic demand for natural gas. It will also expand the country’s energy supply sources.
Thai Energy Minister Viset Choopiban and Iranian Oil Minister Seyyed Kazem Vaziri-Hamaneh witnessed the signing.
