Petrobras met July 3-4 with Russian companies Gazprom, Stroy Trangas and Rosneft.
"There is enormous interest between the companies, but no deadline to conclude negotiations," the spokesperson said.
Petrobras E&P director Guilherme Estrella met with the Russians, leading a committee made up of officials from the state company's departments of gas and power, research and new business as well as its transport subsidiary Transpetro, Petrobras said in a statement.
Petrobras and the Russian companies will stay in touch. The two sides could work together in deepwater and onshore oil and gas exploration, natural gas pipeline construction, underground natural gas storage and liquefied natural gas (LNG).
