Brazil's mature field tender scheduled for June 28 has attracted the interest of 48 companies so far, a spokesperson for national hydrocarbons regulator ANP told BNamericas.

These are the companies that have handed in initial documentation or paid the initial 500-real registration fee, the spokesperson said.

ANP plans to offer 21 mature onshore fields in the states of Espirito Santo, Maranhao and Rio Grande do Norte to small companies as part of its strategy to encourage the creation of a local oil industry based on local independent companies.

The minimum capital requirement for the tender is 15,000 reais (US$6,600).

ANP also inaugurated this week a data room for the tender in the state of Maranhao, where some of the fields will be located.
