ENI

The fourth oil treatment line in the Hassi Berkine South (HBNS) has started operations, in the Algerian desert, bringing production to 285,000 barrels of oil per day. The conclusion of the works at the HBNS center marks the completion of the starting up of some of the fields discovered in the Berkine basin by the Consortium formed by Eni (12.25% interest through its subsidiary Lasmo) the Algerian National oil company Sonatrach, Anadarko and Maersk.

Eni's equity production has increased from 15,000 barrels of oil per day - reached in 1995 with the start up of the first oil field Bir Rebaac North - to the current 65,000 barrels of oil per day. The development of new oil fields already discovered will enable Eni to reach, in 2005, an equity production of 100,000 barrels of oil per day.
