GX Technology Expands International Operations

GX Technology, a leading seismic imaging service provider and a subsidiary of Input/Output, Inc., has opened an advanced seismic imaging services center in Port of Spain, Trinidad. Located off the northern coast of Venezuela, Trinidad has been undergoing a resurgence of exploration activity in recent years as numerous international E&P operators position themselves to develop and expand a resource base in excess of five billion barrels of oil equivalent.

After a history of delivering high-caliber seismic images to its clients operating in Trinidad, GXT was encouraged to open an advanced imaging center in the country. GXT is staffing the Port of Spain center with local geoscientists as well as experienced GXT professionals drawn from other imaging centers around the world.

Mick Lambert, President of GX Technology, commented, "GXT is delighted to open the Port of Spain center. It will be the fourth international imaging services center that we have opened in just over a year. As with all of our advanced imaging centers, the Trinidad facility will be outfitted with state- of-the-art seismic processing technology and will provide our oil and gas customers with the resources and services required to solve their most challenging imaging problems. Oil & gas company interest in Trinidad and Tobago continues to increase both onshore and offshore, especially with the upcoming licensing round. This center reinforces our commitment to closely align our resources with the needs of our customers and to deliver high- quality seismic images with reduced cycle times. We have operated in this market for several years and, based on numerous proprietary imaging projects and the insights gleaned from our ultra-deep CaribeSpan imaging program, have a good foundation upon which to launch this imaging center."

All locally-hired geoscientists in Port of Spain will participate in GXT's extensive imaging training program. By learning how to utilize the advanced imaging tools and leverage the experienced professionals within GXT, these local geoscientists will serve as a valuable vehicle for transferring the latest oil & gas exploration technology to the Trinidadian community.

The Port of Spain center will provide advanced seismic imaging services, including pre-stack time migration (PreSTM), advanced velocity model building, and pre-stack depth migration (PreSDM). GXT's advanced imaging centers also provide customers with local access to the complete range of full-wave imaging products and services offered by GXT and I/O. The company's imaging solutions are designed to help oil & gas companies better visualize and evaluate their subsurface data to identify potential reservoirs and well locations, both onshore and offshore.

GX Technology, a subsidiary of Input/Output, Inc., is a leading provider of Image-Driven(TM) seismic solutions. Oil & gas companies apply GXT's advanced imaging solutions to produce the highest fidelity land and marine subsurface images and reduce the risk and cost of finding and producing hydrocarbons. GXT's solutions include start-to-finish seismic acquisition programs, time processing, pre-stack depth and time imaging, anisotropic imaging, wavelet-based AVO analysis, 4D and full-wave services, and fracture detection and modeling. GXT also provides software and services for seismic acquisition planning, survey design and modeling. GXT is a Houston-based company that operates regional service centers in Denver, London, Calgary, Aberdeen, Caracas, Luanda and Port Harcourt.
