New CEO Appointed as Forum Pursues Growth in the Philippines

Forum Energy

Forum Energy plc, the AIM-quoted UK energy group with gas, oil and coal assets in the Philippines, announces the appointment of Russell Harvey as Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Harvey, 54, has more than 30 years' senior experience in the international upstream industry, and was instrumental in the building of Intrepid Energy, a private start-up company with assets in the UK North Sea that was sold for over $1 billion in 2004. He has extensive international experience and has been involved in business development in the UK, USA, Norway, the Middle East, Russia and the CIS.

Forum Chairman Alan Henderson said: "We are delighted to have secured the proven leadership and business development capabilities of Russell as we become an established energy producer in the Philippines and continue to pursue profitable growth opportunities."

Russell Harvey is a graduate of Imperial College, London, and started his career with Phillips Petroleum. He subsequently held executive positions with Kerr McGee, Lasmo North Sea, where he was Managing Director, and as CEO of Bitech Petroleum.

Mr. Harvey will take up his new position with immediate effect. He succeeds former CEO David Robinson who has left Forum in order to pursue business interests in his native Canada. Last month, Forum completed the acquisition of the oil and gas assets of Philippines-based Basic Consolidated Inc, providing it with immediate oil production and significant upside potential in both production and reserves.
