MMS to Hold Meeting on Draft OCS Program

The US Minerals Management Service (MMS)has scheduled a public scoping meeting on the Draft Proposed 5-Year Outer Continental Shelf Oil and Gas Leasing Program for 2007-2012.

The April 4 meeting, which will be held in Norfolk, Va., will allow participants to give their input on the scope, significant issues, and alternatives to be considered in the environmental impact statement (EIS) for the proposed leasing program. MMS personnel will review to comments to determine the scope of the EIS.

The meeting will be held at the Doubletree Hotel, 880 Military Highway, in Norfolk. The meeting will be held in two sessions--one at 3 p.m. and another at 7 p.m.

MMS is also accepting written comments through April 11 via its Web site.
