John Scott joins the Salt Lake City-based oilfield services company as chief operating officer. In this capacity, he will be responsible for the daily operations of the company and its subsidiaries in Kazakhstan. Scott is a British national with an extensive background in seismic and marine operations gained over a 14-year international career, most recently with Schlumberger. He is replacing Paul Roberts in this position. Roberts will continue to serve on the company's board of directors.
Terrance J. Powell has also joined the company as vice president, investor relations. In this capacity, he will coordinate the investor and public relations efforts and marketing initiatives of the company. Powell is a Canadian national and a long-term resident of the Republic of Kazakhstan with a solid understanding of that country's business environment. Powell's most recent work experience in Kazakhstan includes serving as director of government and public relations for PetroKazakstan and as director of marketing for the Caspian region for PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
