The new facility will allow WGLS' Rapid Response Team to service the central United States with pipe recovery services. The Rapid Response Team was founded in 2003 and is committed to expedited recovery of stuck drill pipe in wells in and along the Gulf of Mexico, in Texas, Louisiana, and now Oklahoma. The Oklahoma–based Rapid Response Team members can be contacted at one toll-free number 24/7 at 1-888-OKC RRT-1.
The expansion into the mid-continent is led by key members with over 75 years of combined experience performing pipe recovery services. J.T. "Skip" Boevers is district manager for the new facility, with 32 years of experience in the pipe recovery segment of e-line operations. Working with Skip is Larry Stealey, senior pipe recovery specialist, with 23 years of pipe recovery experience in the region. Pipe Recovery Manager Jerry Bond will provide support from Houston. WGLS now has a cumulative total experience base of over 500 years in pipe recovery operations in the U.S. operations.
"Drilling for natural gas has increased in the central United States and with that comes an increased potential for stuck pipe," said Doug McCartney, vice president of Wood Group Logging Services. "Approximately one in 10 wells drilled will experience stuck pipe, which can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and impede the drilling process. Our Rapid Response Team's accelerated approach can result in significant savings for our customers."
