The SAFE program is designed to recognize and commend operating companies and contractors that expend extra effort and conduct their operations in a safe manner, adhering to all regulatory requirements, employing trained and motivated personnel, and taking extra steps to enhance the safety of operations. Baker Energy is receiving the District Awards for its work in the Houma, Lafayette, and New Orleans Districts. The recipient of the National Award, which will be announced in April, will be recognized for displaying the most exemplary safety performance throughout the United States.
These 2005 District Awards are the latest MMS recognition of Baker's dedication to safety and compliance. In both 2004 and 1999, the New Orleans District recognized Baker with a Production Contractor SAFE Award. In 2003, Baker received the Houma District Production Contractor SAFE Award. In addition, Baker has served as Operator on three deepwater facilities that have been awarded an MMS District SAFE Award in the past five years.
"We are very proud of this recognition from the MMS for our efforts to promote a safe environment for our people and our clients. It is the dedication of all of our personnel in the field who work hard every single day to maintain a safe and productive work place that makes Baker worthy of recognition like this," Richard Giffhorn, president of Baker Energy, said.
Baker Energy works with oil and gas companies worldwide to provide total asset management solutions. By integrating its diverse operating and management skills, Baker has evolved into a single source supplier of competency-based personnel recruiting and training, comprehensive operations and maintenance, and supply chain management services.
