Mr. Bernier brings to Schilling more than 15 years of experience in the ROV industry, in positions at Sonsub Inc., Sonsub International, and Oceaneering International. He has held such diverse positions as project manager, technician supervisor, operations manager, and ROV pilot technician. Most recently, he was project manager for the BP Americas ROV services accounts for the deepwater Holstein, Atlantis, Mad Dog, and Thunder Horse projects.
"Ron and Schilling are an excellent fit," says Jason Stanley, VP and regional manager for the Gulf of Mexico. "His wide range of experience, from project manager for large subsea development projects to ROV operator, gives him a complete understanding of what the industry expects and demands from remotely operated equipment."
For his part, Mr. Bernier is glad to join the staff of a company that he admired as a customer. "From technical support solutions to technical training," says Bernier, "Schilling was always a company that I could count on."
He is also excited to join the company just as it is introducing its Digital Telemetry System (DTS), which uses the latest gigabit Ethernet technology to handle serial, Ethernet, and video data (including HDTV). Says Bernier, "The DTS is one of the great features in the UHD, our hydraulic ultraheavy-duty ROV, and provides a huge technology advantage over existing systems. The DTS can be used in a broad range of applications for subsea control and data acquisition, and I look forward to bringing this technology to our clients."
