Baraka Petroleum Names Peter Cockcroft Chairman
The Board of Baraka Petroleum has appointed Peter Cockcroft to the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Cockcroft, a directory of the company, has a long and distinguished career in the oil and gas industry and brings his technical and industry experience to the Chairman's role at an important time of change in the Company's growth cycle.
Mr. Shane Doherty, who has stepped down to become Deputy Chairman in the planned succession said, "This next twelve months will see some exciting development's for Baraka with existing work programs in Mauritania and Mali. Peter's technical expertise and experience will guide management to move our projects into the next development phase."
Having successfully chaired Baraka through its formation, capital raising and ASX listing process. Mr. Doherty will now focus on corporate development and capital market management.
Mr. Cockcroft, a director of the company since its formation brings substantial technical and industry knowledge to the Chairman's roles. Having over 30 years of widely gained experience in the oil and gas industry he has also held management and senior technical positions with Premier Oil, BHP Petroleum and Fletcher Challenge.
