PDVSA Employees Begin Work Delay
Monday PDVSA employees started a work slowdown aimed at operations, a spokesman for protesting executives and workers said. "We're starting a work slowdown today. We've been in ongoing contact with labor unions and they are doing the same thing, and this is going to cause delays in operations," said the spokesman.
The slowdown is expected to cause delays in the areas of production, export and refinery activities. The spokesman said he was not sure how long the slowdown would last, but the employees have made it clear that they do not want to hurt Venezuela's economy. "Eventually, this could lead to more radical actions if necessary," he added, saying this could include actions which could impair production further.
