This was the second Kizomba contract for Aggreko, having already supplied a 12 MVA load bank package and a 4 MW temporary power during the commissioning and transportation of the Kizomba A FPSO a year ago.
Almost identical to the Kizomba A, the Kizomba B commenced construction in early 2003, and, in January 2005, embarked on its three month journey to the Deepwater Block 15, 370 kilometers offshore Angola.
The 12 MVA / 13.8kV / 60Hz load bank package provided by Aggreko was used to test the permanent power supply on board the vessel during its fabrication at the HHI yard in Ulsan, South Korea.
The 4 MW / 4.16kV / 60Hz power package provided by Aggreko was used as main power on board the Kizomba B FPSO during its three month journey from South Korea to Angola.
Aggreko provided 24 hour operation & maintenance support throughout the fabrication of the vessel onshore as well as onboard the FPSO during its transportation to Angola.
Steve Dunlop, Aggreko Sales Director for Asia said "Aggreko has a solid, long standing professional relationship with HHI, and Kizomba B was a natural progression for Aggreko after it successfully completed the Kizomba A project. Aggreko was selected by HHI because of its ability to deliver the level of reliability and technical support that projects of this kind must have; where HHI knew it could depend on Aggreko's service and expertise".
