Murphy Restarts Production at Meduse Following Hurricane Damage Repairs

Murphy Oil says that production has resumed at the Medusa field following Hurricane Katrina damage repairs to downstream pipeline systems owned by others. Murphy operated production at Medusa should ramp up quickly to pre-storm levels of 35,000 barrels of oil a day and 35 million cubic feet of natural gas a day.

The Medusa facility is located in 2,200 feet of water on Mississippi Canyon Blocks 538 and 582 and Murphy has a 60% working interest in the field.
