Mike Main Named Managing Director at Salamis
Mike has over 25 years experience in the oil and gas industry, primarily in maintenance and operations as well as engineering construction, in the UK and internationally. Formerly he has held senior Board positions with Kvaerner, PGS Atlantic Power and Petrofac. Latterly he was responsible for the mobilization of a major project in Kuwait.
Commenting on his appointment, he said: "I am delighted to be joining such a successful company as Salamis at a time when it is heading for a record year in terms of business.
"Salamis has steadily strengthened its business through the years by continually increasing the number of strong, blue chip clients for whom it works. As well as adding to the client base, the company has been successful in retaining business by delivering real improvements in safety, quality, innovation and overall value.
"Building on our success in 2004, which saw profits before tax increase by 31% to £2.8M, I am looking forward to the challenge of further growing the business over the next five years in the UK and overseas."
Mike Main takes over from Andy Bruce, who has left Salamis to concentrate on growing ABZ Group, the business he formed earlier this year with Bob Forbes, which acquired Labtech Modular Engineering in May 2005 and NE Corrosion Engineering in November 2005.
