The offshore electrical and instrumentation division of the electrical engineering group has just been appointed preferred contractor for one of the leading manufacturers of wired telecommunications systems for the offshore industry. The contract with Vodec will see C&M Group supply and install their systems to the offshore sector both in the North Sea and overseas.
C&M Group's electrical and instrumentation division, which specialises in the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of offshore electrical and instrumentation systems, is also a preferred supplier of fire suppressant systems to Chubb Scotland and Tyco Marine.
Jim Gilmour, director of the offshore electrical and instrumentation division, says : "Vodec's systems are highly sought after offshore as they are specially designed to be maintenance friendly as well as reliable in severe climatic and harsh operational environments, including potentially explosive atmospheres. Our appointment as preferred installation contractor for their products could lead to a huge increase in business which will result in new appointments of trainee and experienced electricians."
C&M Group is a multi-disciplined electrical engineering business with six divisions operating in the offshore oil and gas, marine, catering, construction, retail and public sectors. The divisions operate in the areas of vessel management, inspection and conversion, marine engineering, advanced technology, offshore electrical and instrumentation, kitchen engineering, energy and lighting and contracting.
