Easywell Receives Prestigious Award for New Technology

EasyWell

Easy Well has won a prestigious international award for the development of its groundbreaking new completion technology, the SwellPacker isolation system.

The company, which was recently acquired by Halliburton Energy Services Inc, received the best completion technology award for SwellPacker at the World Oil awards, held in Houston, USA, and attended by almost 400 industry leaders. The category was extremely competitive with several nominations from a number of very strong candidates.

SwellPacker, which recently celebrated its 1,000th installation, is based on the swelling properties of rubber in hydrocarbons. Designed for use in both open and cased holes, its thermodynamic absorption allows continuous expansion and swelling to provide an annular seal.

Easy Well founder and president Rune Freyer accepted the award from John "Rusty" Meador, President/CEO of Gulf Publishing Company, publisher of World Oil.

Mr. Freyer said: said: "This is a fantastic achievement for us all at Easy Well and it is a great introduction to our technology into Halliburton and out towards end customers.

"It is also recognition of this exceptional technology which has a 100 per cent success rate. The application of SwellPacker results in significant reductions in the cost of field exploitation."
