Kuwait Accepts Resignation from Oil Minister

Kuwait's prime minister has accepted the resignation of his oil minister who stepped down following a fatal blast which forced the country to halt about a third of its daily crude production.

"Yes, it was accepted" by Prime Minister and Crown Prince Sheikh Saad Al Abdulla Al Sabah, Oil Minister Adel Al Subaih reported after a weekly cabinet meeting. "An official decree will be issued later". The resignation will become official once the decree has been issued. Information Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahd Al Sabah, a member of the ruling family, is expected to take over as acting oil minister, he added.
