Mission Makes Gulf of Mexico Discovery

Mission Resources Corporation announced its first discovery in 2002.

The Ship Shoal Block 225 #1 encountered 102 feet of hydrocarbons in the Bul 1 sand within the Pliocene formation. The well was drilled to a depth of 13,900 feet and was temporarily suspended without testing. First production is expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2002 following installation of facilities. The well was drilled by Diamond Offshore's jackup, Ocean Titan.

Mission has a 19-percent working interest in the well. Other participants in the well include the operator Dominion Exploration & Production Inc., and Samedan Oil Corporation.
