Tap Oil reports that the Lansdowne-1 well, located in TL/6 offshore Australia approximately 5 kilometers south of the Agincourt Platform, has reached its total depth of 3,715 meters measured depth. Good reservoir sandstones were intersected at the top of the Double Island and Flag Sandstones, however, no hydrocarbons were encountered.
The Lansdowne structure lies in a similar geological setting to the previous successful oil discovery at Artreus-1. The Lansdowne-1 well came in close to prognosis and the reasons for failure of the well to find hydrocarbons are uncertain at this time.
The Ensco 67 jackup is scheduled to move to the Kultarr prospect in permit WA-334-P, however if the weather forecast is unfavorable the rig will to move to the Kew prospect in the Harriet Joint Venture permit TL/9.
TL/6 Joint Venture participants are Apache Northwest Limited as operator with 12.2229%; Tap Oil with 12.2229%; Kufpec Austrlia with 19.2771%.
