Serica Energy Wins Two North Sea Blocks

Serica Energy has been awarded two new North Sea exploration blocks in the UK 23rd Offshore Licensing Round. The license awards were announced yesterday by Energy Minister Malcolm Wicks.

Serica CEO Paul Ellis said, "the award of these new licenses increases our portfolio of drillable exploration prospects in the UK North Sea, where we intend to commence a drilling program next year."

Serica was awarded Block 23/16f and the southern half of Block 14/15. The Company's partner in Block 23/16f is Endeavour Energy Limited and in Block 14/15 Serica has Paladin Expro Limited as its partner. In both blocks, Serica has an interest of 50% and is the operator.
