The oilfield procurement specialists have been awarded a three-year extension to their contract with Transocean to supply general oilfield products to its fleet in the North European Region.
CIS Managing Director, David Allan, says: "Winning extensions to existing contracts is very pleasing as it demonstrates our commitment to customer care. The scope of this contract, covering the whole of the North Sea, reinforces our position as a market leader in procurement."
As part of its on-going growth strategy, CIS has appointed a new business development manager. Chris Milner will be responsible for developing and enhancing relationships with existing customers and building new business contacts in the North Sea, West Africa, Kazakhstan and Houston where CIS recently opened an office.
A graduate with BA (Hons) from Robert Gordon University, Milner has almost ten years in sales and was previously location manager for Anixter UK's oil and gas division.
Allan adds: "CIS continues to grow rapidly both at home and overseas and Chris' appointment will ensure that we continually build on that growth.
"We have more than tripled our turnover in recent years and are now on target to reach £20 million this year, with international business accounting for 65%."
The company, one of the nine divisions of global shipping and oilfield services group - The Craig Group, has transformed itself from an Aberdeen firm supplying companies operating in the North Sea to a truly international player with contracts in Angola, Nigeria, The Congo, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, the US and Norway.
CIS provides a comprehensive range of products and services to oilfield operations and projects. From its considerable inventory and an extensive database of Quality Assured suppliers, CIS can supply the entire range of products for all seismic, drilling, exploration and production.
Aberdeen-headquartered The Craig Group is one of Scotland's top 100 companies. The independent family-owned group, which turns over £90 million and provides employment for 1,500 people, now has bases in 12 overseas locations.
