Clariant Acquires Data Chem
Clariant Corporation, through its Clariant Oil Services business, has purchased the business and primary assets of Data Chem, Inc. of Reserve, Louisiana. The parties agreed not to disclose financial details of the purchase.
Clariant Oil Services is a global supplier of chemicals and integrated services to the oil and gas industry. This acquisition enables the group to provide improved logistics and technical support to its customers in the Gulf Coast region of the United States, while enhancing the portfolio of products and services available to Data Chem’s customers. This is a further strategic action by Clariant Oil Services, following successful acquisitions and business growth in California and Canada over recent years and the move into a new and expanded office and Technical Center in Houston in 2004.
Data Chem has provided innovative products and services to customers in the Gulf Coast region since 1982. The Data Chem facilities — situated on a 15-acre site in Reserve, Louisiana, and comprising a manufacturing plant, storage and distribution center, and development laboratories — offer the company’s regional customers unrivalled logistical and technical support.
