OHM Awarded First Mapping Contract Offshore Sarawak, Malaysia

Offshore Hydrocarbon Mapping plc (OHM) announced today that the company, together with Malaysian partner, Petra Resources Sdn Bhd (Petra), has been awarded a contract by Newfield Sarawak Malaysia Inc. (Newfield) to acquire and process controlled source electromagnetic data over a number of prospects in the Deep Water Block 2C, offshore Sarawak.

The contract, which is OHM’s first in South East Asia will commence in early August. OHM will undertake the survey planning, data acquisition and processing and Petra will provide the vessel and logistical support for the operation.

OHM CEO, Dave Pratt said, “We are delighted to have secured this contract for a new client in a new area and with a respected local partner. This award further demonstrates that the Controlled Source Electromagnetic imaging technique is becoming accepted as a vital component of the explorer’s toolkit.”
