Northern Sun Begins Drilling Lavoy Development Well

Northern Sun Exploration reports that drilling has commenced on the second natural gas well at the Company's property near Lavoy, Alberta, following up on last month's new gas pool discovery well. The Company will drill to a depth of 650 meters, and will target natural gas in six zones. Northern Sun has a 100% working interest in the Lavoy gas play. A pipeline tie-in to a third party facility is currently being surveyed and regulatory approvals should be in place for gas sales by the end of June 2005.

At Grouard, severe wet weather conditions have hampered testing activities on the Company's three new wells drilled last month. Northern Sun has, however, successfully acquired three new sections of exploration land at an 87.5% working interest adjoining its Grouard properties. A new 2D seismic program has been completed at Grouard, and is currently being processed and evaluated.

The Company also reports that wet conditions in southwestern Saskatchewan have delayed development drilling at the Battle Creek and Divide prospects. Weather and road conditions have suspended any rig moves, after drilling and casing the first well in the eight well program. Work is expected to commence within the next few days, weather permitting.
