Northern Sun Provides Exploration Update
Northern Sun Exploration provides and update on operations in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
Northern Sun has drilled three wells near Grouard, each to a depth of approximately 850 meters, and a fourth well near Lavoy to a depth of approximately 750 meters. All four wells targeted multi-zone gas prospects, although testing has been delayed due to spring break-up conditions in Alberta. The Company will complete testing once road bans are lifted and well locations can be accessed.
Additionally, the Company has shot its second round of a 16 km 2-D seismic program on the Company's property near Grouard. The data is currently being evaluated and drilling locations are being selected.
Northern Sun has acquired a total of six sections of land adjoining the Company's existing sixteen sections near Divide in south west Saskatchewan at a recent provincial crown land sale. Exploration drilling on the Company's 50% working interest in the Divide area is scheduled to begin shortly after spring break-up.
A 4 km 2-D seismic program has recently been completed over Northern Sun's crown lands near Fort Pitt, and as well the Company has purchased seismic covering its lands near Senlac. The seismic has been evaluated and drilling locations have been selected and will be drilled after break-up.
