Statoil Gets Consent for Manned Subsea Operations

On behalf of several operating companies, Statoil has applied for consent to implement manned subsea operations during the period 2005-2006, using the vessels DSV DSND Pelican, DSV Seaway Osprey, DSV Toisa Polaris and work boats of the Jacob 3 type.

During the period up to December 2006, the companies Statoil ASA, Esso Norge AS and Norsk Hydro Produksjon a.s will implement a number of manned subsea operations activities described in the application. The application also covers Gassco AS and Pertra AS, which may need to implement manned subsea operations during the period in question.

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has granted its consent to the activities, limited to a maximum diving depth of 180 m. The companies must submit more detailed information well before the respective activities are commenced.
