Salamis Achieves Safety Milestone on ChevronTexaco Assets
Salamis has achieved five years without a lost-time incident (LTI) working on the ChevronTexaco North Sea assets Alba, Captain and Erskine under an operations and maintenance contract for Kellogg Brown & Root (KBR).
More than 20 Salamis personnel have been providing operations and maintenance support on these assets since 1998 and the contract was recently extended for an initial period of 18 months with three, one year options.
Sandy Bonner, Operations Manager at Salamis, said: "This is a major achievement and demonstrates our continuous commitment to health and safety. People are our biggest asset and their continuing safety and good health both on and off the job is our number one priority. Each and every one of our employees involved in this contract is to be congratulated for their positive contribution that helped enable us to reach this milestone."
Salamis credits this safety achievement to a commitment from all parties, both onshore and offshore, to a sustained positive safety culture, which promotes shared responsibility and mutual respect in the workplace.
