The Gas Authority of India Ltd has renewed an agreement with Shell International Gas Ltd. to explore business opportunities and identify various projects in the gas sector covering upstream, gas imports and pipelines. These projects would include discussions on cooperation in LNG import projects and the import of gas through pipelines as well as some new areas of business. These new areas have been expanded to include training in the areas of gas contracting and pricing, long-term planning and gas trading practices.
GAIL is India's largest natural gas transmission and processing firm with interests in petrochemicals and telecommunications. It has a pipeline network of 4,400 km to supply about 22 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually.
