Well 1301, a step-out appraisal well, was tested at an initial test flow rate of 4,100 bopd on a 40/64 inch choke. The well was drilled to a depth of 2,594 meters from a new location which is the furthest to the northeast in the field. Pressure data indicates a deeper oil-water contact than elsewhere in the field.
Well 303, an in-fill development well drilled to a depth of 2,408 meters towards the center of the field, was tested at an initial flow rate of 4,500 bopd also on a 40/64 inch choke.
The test production rates from these two wells are the largest witnessed to date on the M'Boundi field, and in both cases came from the Vandji B reservoir.
Development and appraisal drilling on M'Boundi continues with 3 rigs in operation. The M'Boundi field lies within the Kouilou PSA area in which Burren has a 35% working interest.
