Parker Drilling Company has appointed David C. Mannon as senior vice president and chief operating officer. Mannon replaces Robert F. Nash, who left the company in June 2004.
Mannon has 24 years experience in the drilling industry, holding positions of increasing responsibility. He began his career with SEDCO-FOREX, formerly SEDCO, in 1980 as a drilling engineer and joined Triton Engineering Services Company, a subsidiary of Noble Drilling, in 1988, where he held a number of managerial positions culminating with his appointment as president and chief executive officer in 2003.
In his new role, Mannon will report directly to Robert L. Parker, Jr., president and chief executive officer. "David's experience and leadership in the drilling industry will be extremely valuable to Parker Drilling, and we are fortunate to have him as our chief operating officer," said Parker. "David will be a significant addition to our management team as we implement our strategic plan to facilitate growth and profitability in all market conditions."
Mannon earned a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from Southern Methodist University and a master of business administration from the University of Houston.
