AMEC - Black & McDonald JV Wins Contract from ExxonMobil

AMEC and joint venture partner Black & McDonald have been awarded a 45 million (AMEC share 22.5m) engineering, procurement and construction project management contract for the Sable Project offshore Nova Scotia, Canada.

The contract covers the 'Sable' onshore and offshore facilities in Nova Scotia and is for a period of five years with an option to extend for an additional five years. It reinforces the AMEC Black & McDonald joint venture's position as a major force in East Coast Canada offshore services and strengthens AMEC's position as a global leader in support services for the oil and gas industry.

"This win illustrates our ability to provide operational and support services to our customers on a global basis," said Neil Bruce, Managing Director of AMEC's oil and gas division. "We already deliver on and offshore services in several regions around the world across the full spectrum of oil and gas activity, from production to the finished product, and this contract represents another step forward in this huge market."

The Sable production facilities comprise the Thebaud offshore production facility and the unattended Venture, North Triumph and Alma platforms. The contract also covers the Goldboro and Point Tupper onshore gas plants, which receive and process natural gas for transmission to the North-eastern United States in addition to converting some of it into propane and butane.
